Respite care services

Respite Care Services

Respite care is available only to current Hospice of Lenawee patients who are actively receiving hospice services. Eligible patients may receive compassionate, around-the-clock care at the Jim Feeney Hospice Home while their caregivers take time to rest and recharge. Eligibility and scheduling are coordinated with the patient’s Hospice of Lenawee care team. Patients may qualify for a stay of up to five nights based on Medicare eligibility.

  • Nursing care, personal care, emotional and spiritual support.
  • Education about medications, treatments, and illnesses.
  • Medication management.

During a short-term stay at the Jim Feeney Hospice Home, the patient continues receiving compassionate, around-the-clock care while their caregiver takes time to rest and recharge.

At Hospice of Lenawee, we understand that caregiving is exhausting work, and we believe that taking time to rest is not a luxury but a necessity. Our team steps in so that caregivers can recharge, attend to personal matters, or simply take a moment to breathe.

The exact duration depends on the patient’s care plan and is coordinated with their Hospice of Lenawee care team. For eligible current Hospice of Lenawee patients, Medicare may cover up to five consecutive nights of respite care.
