Hospice covered benefits include care provided by an interdisciplinary team (including the doctor, nurses, social workers, hospice aides), costs for medical supplies and equipment such as a hospital bed, wheelchair, dressing supplies, etc., as well as medications for the relief of any symptoms related to the patient's hospice diagnosis.

The only hospice-related expense not covered by Medicare and some private insurances is room and board if the patient is living in a nursing home or hospice residential facility, such as Hospice of Lenawee's Hospice Home. This room and board cost is covered by Medicaid and some private insurances if the patient is insured.
